Cepeliada 2010 in Sopot

From 27th of July until 1st of August in Sopot Cepeliada – one of the oldest and most popular events devoted to the presentation of folk art and craft from the whole Poland was held. Until the 1st of August the pier in the city of Sopot hosted more then 100 folk artists and craftsmen, as well as Polish and international folk ensembles performing in the concert bowl. The visitors could observe how pottery, embroidery, lace,  sculptures and paintings are created and buy the objects that interested them.

27th of July (Tuesday)

17.00 – concert of the  Żywiczanie ensemble
18.00 – concert of a folk group from Slovakia
19.00 – concert of the ensemble from the Lębork region

28th of July (Wednesday)
17.00 – concert of a Macedonian folk ensemble from Koco-Racin-Kicewo
18.00 – concert of a Serbian folk ensemble 14.Octobar

29th of July (Thursday)
17.00 – concert of the folk ensemble Pith of Africa from Kenia
18.00 – concert of the Kozackie Dzury folk ensemble from Ukraine

30th of July (Friday)
17.00 – concert of a folk ensemble from Romania
18.00 – concert of the Chmielanie ensemble

31th of July (Saturday)
17.00 – concert of the Altan Bulag folk ensemble from Russia
18.00 – concert of the Kubruk group

1st of August (Sunday)
17.00 – concert of the Sierakowice folk ensemble
18.00 – concert of a Ukrainian folk ensemble Chutir

During the fifties CEPELIA cooperative “Brąz Dekoracyjny” restored the monument of Fryderyk Chopin that was destroyed during the World War II. The monument, placed in the Royal Baths in Warsaw, was designed in the beginning of the XXth century by Wacław Szymanowski. New, reconstructed monument was unveiled in 1958.
