33rd Fair of Folk Art

33rd Fair of Folk Art celebrated under the banner of the 60th anniversary of CEPELIA ended on August 30th. It is the biggest Polish event presenting folklore, folk art, artistic handicraft and cultural traditions. The fair lasted from 21st until 30th of August and hosted as many as 400 Polish and foreign artists. The visitors could buy items created by folk artists, CEPELIA cooperatives and companies and watch the performances of CEPELIA folk ensembles and various folk groups from Poland and abroad – from Slovakia, Hungary, Russia, Belarus as well as participants of two international folk festivals – International Festival of highland Folklore and international Student Folklore Festival.

DID YOU KNOW?

During the fifties CEPELIA cooperative “Brąz Dekoracyjny” restored the monument of Fryderyk Chopin that was destroyed during the World War II. The monument, placed in the Royal Baths in Warsaw, was designed in the beginning of the XXth century by Wacław Szymanowski. New, reconstructed monument was unveiled in 1958.
