34th Fair of Folk Art in Krakow

34th Fair of Folk Art in Krakow will take place on 20-29th of August 2010. 10 days of the Fair will be devoted to different countries, regions and cities. Folk artists and craftsmen, as well as folk story-tellers, cultural centers, regional associations will present their skills and products. The Main Square will host around 120 stalls with folk art and craft run by Cepelia cooperatives and folk artists. read more »

Meetings with Cepelia on Chmielna Street

From May until September 2010 Cepelia organizes monthly “Meetings with Cepelia on Chmielna Street”. Their purpose is to present folk art, craft and rites of the most interesting Polish regions. On Chmielna Street (from 8 Chmielna St, Cepelia’s premises to Nowy Świat) folk artists and craftsmen were presenting their skills and selling their products. Children could participate in pottery workshops. Each meeting was enriched with concerts of folk ensembles. read more »

Cepeliada 2010 in Sopot

From 27th of July until 1st of August in Sopot Cepeliada - one of the oldest and most popular events devoted to the presentation of folk art and craft from the whole Poland was held. Until the 1st of August the pier in the city of Sopot hosted more then 100 folk artists and craftsmen, as well as Polish and international folk ensembles performing in the concert bowl. read more »

My world – exhibition

In July and August CEPELIA Foundation organizes the exhibitions of works created by the participants of the UNIKAT occupational therapy workshop from Katowice. The exhibition “My world” is shown in the “Na Piętrze” Gallery in Warsaw from 8th of July until 15th of August. Each of the authors whose works are shown at the exhibition is different and creates mostly under the influence of their own imagination and own perception of the world. They create mainly for themselves and their creations are part of their lives, telling us something new and interesting about the authors, world and ourselves. Series of “Souvenir from Poland” exhibitions

In 2009 CEPELIA Foundation organized the „Souvenir from Poland” contest to celebrate it’s 60th anniversary. The aim of the competition was to obtain new, original souvenirs that would promote Poland. The interest was great - 477 applications were sent, which equals to almost 900 contest works in the two categories: „Inspiration - souvenirs that refer to modern design trends and „Tradition” – souvenirs that refer richly to the Polish culture. The jury awarded 20 finalists. read more »

Snutki embroidery and pottery exhibition

From May 27th inhabitants of Warsaw could visit the exhibition of snutki embroidery and pottery organized by the CEPELIA Foundation. Folk artist Barbara Michalak and ceramist Robert Jehn-Olszewski presented their works in the “Na Piętrze” Gallery at the Konstytucji Square. read more »

„Polish dolls” – exhibition in Tallinn

Thanks to the cooperation of the Estonian Folk Art And Craft Union and CEPELIA Foundation the exhibition “Polish dolls” presenting dolls in the Polish regional costumes was organized from May 12th until May 26th in Tallinn. The exhibition was a result of cooperation of both organizations in the Word Crafts Council that associates institutions that operate in the field of folk art and culture from the whole world. The exhibition was held at th e sear of the Estonian Folk Art And Craft Union, at the 22 Pikk street. read more »

Easter Exhibition in the „Na Piętrze” Gallery

Each year in the spring time CEPELIA organizes exhibitions presenting Easter traditions in the „Na Piętrze” Gallery (Konstytucji Sq. 5, Warsaw). This year visitors could see beautifully decorated Easter eggs from serveral Polish regions created with various techniques, palms, weaved baskets, lambs, as well as sculptures, pottery and regional costumes. Handicraft of the Łowicz Region

From September 9th until October 3rd you can visit the exhibition „Handicraft of the Łowicz Region” in the Galeria na Piętrze art gallery placed at the Konstytucji Square 5, Warsaw. You can find there most intereting works created by the participants of the contest  organized by CEPELIA Foundation and Łowicz Museum. read more »

33rd Fair of Folk Art

33rd Fair of Folk Art celebrated under the banner of the 60th anniversary of CEPELIA ended on August 30th. It is the biggest Polish event presenting folklore, folk art, artistic handicraft and cultural traditions. The fair lasted from 21st until 30th of August and hosted as many as 400 Polish and foreign artists. The visitors could buy items created by folk artists, CEPELIA cooperatives and companies and watch the performances of CEPELIA folk ensembles and various folk groups from Poland and abroad read more »

During the fifties CEPELIA cooperative “Brąz Dekoracyjny” restored the monument of Fryderyk Chopin that was destroyed during the World War II. The monument, placed in the Royal Baths in Warsaw, was designed in the beginning of the XXth century by Wacław Szymanowski. New, reconstructed monument was unveiled in 1958.
